Portland State Vikings football vs. Arkansas Razorbacks: Preview, time, TV channel, how to watch live stream
The Portland State Vikings kick off the 2019 college football season Saturday against another team looking to make a big leap from last season: the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Portland State (4-7 in 2018) returns nine starters on offense and eight on defense, including offensive stars and team captains Charlie Taumoepeau at tight end and Davis Alexander at quarterback.
Arkansas (2-10 in 2018) is coming off its worst season since 1952.“We made the bed,” defensive lineman McTelvin Agim said at SEC media days. “We’re laying in it. We’ve been laying in it. Now it’s time to get up out of it.”
For the Vikings of the Football Championship Subdivision, it will be the first of two matchups against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents this season, and Portland State’s first-ever game against a Southeastern Conference team.
Coach Bruce Barnum is 2-6 against FBS teams, having beaten Washington State and North Texas in 2015 before dropping six in a row.
The Razorbacks return 12 starters, but their roster is full of youth, with 51 freshmen and 23 sophomores.
